Dearborn Rotary Club Past President Young Scholarship
The Dearborn Rotary Club is pleased to announce a new scholarship for graduating seniors of a Dearborn public high school. This new scholarship, The Dearborn Rotary Past President Robert Young Scholarship, will be awarded to one or more graduating seniors from the three public high schools of Dearborn. Each scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior by application process only and will be at least in the amount of $1500 to be used for the first year of attendance at an accredited Michigan college or university. The scholarship will be rewarded in part based on the applicants’ understanding and application of the 4-Way Test of Rotary International. The scholarship will also be rewarded on academic performance and community engagement on the part of applicants. The Dearborn Rotary Past President Robert Young Scholarship is made possible through the generosity of Mr. Robert Young. Bob Young was a long time member of the Dearborn Rotary and a Past President of the club. He was also an educator in the Dearborn Public Schools and served as principal of Edsel Ford High School. The application for this year’s Dearborn Rotary Past President Young Scholarship is due no later than January 16, 2012. The application may be found here.
