The opportunity to make a difference often arises unexpectedly. Kim told the “Starfish Story” and encouraged us to act when we see starfish on our beach.

Gov. Kim inducted Amira Haidar as the newest Dearborn Rotarian. She challenged Amira find the opportunity to make a difference through Rotary. Kim also recognized and
congratulated five Rotarians who have earned their blue badge status.

Rotarians Maria Willett, Mike Kadouh, Rose Olson, Ida Gonzalez and Marlene Lemire all graduated from Red Badge to Blue Badge status. All five are serving on the club's current Board of Directors.

Kim also presented two Dearborn Rotarians with the "Difference Maker Award". Margaret Blohm and Bob Ziolkowski were recognized by Gov. Kim for their work engaging Rotarians, community organizations and friends to aid brothers, Fensang and William who are seeking asylum in the U.S.
